Artist's Comments

I have always liked Kurt Vonnegut's work. This is a quotation from Slaughterhouse Five which I wrote out for the local branch of CND.

Absolutely superb. Impressive control of spacing! I also love the bird, it's got the feel of Vonnegut's writing to it.

i love the lettering
excellent work
im sorry but the bird and the ballon unfortunatly ruined it for me
nevertheless the calligraphy is fantastic

Thank you again. The bird was a conceit, but I thought it sort of fitted with Vonnegut's general approach.

I think the scraggy little bird really does fit in the with the mood of the piece, being a little twist in the plot, if you like.

The fact that the words remain legible even with the tightly stacked lines is impressive, and the piece as a whole really appeals to me. I think it's the way that the writing style and the "level of seriousness" fit with the quote, and I'm sure it has something to do with the ending making me smile.
